peek

is a lifestyle magazine, seen though the eyes of people with a very different understanding of the term lifestyle.
Ignorance has become one of the biggest problems in our society. Fear, racism and hatred of the unknown are direct consequences of our lacking knowledge of lifestyles and cultures. I am therefor happy to present the very first issue of Peek magazine. When reading Peek you will encounter daily lifestyle topics such as: interior, fashion and food. We all have a pretty clear idea of what these topics means and how we typically perceive them. But what do they look like, through the eyes of people who might live completely different lives then us? Each issue has a different topic. This issue takes a sneak peek into the everyday lives of inmates all around the world, to give us a better understanding of what it means to be in prison. Is it the way we imagine it? Does it resemble what is displayed in movies? I hope by the end of the magazine you will have received new information and gained better insight. The Idea behind the layout. The target ordinance for Peek are people who are curious about the world. People who like to kick back with a good documentary and enjoys going to museums, where they can go on a discovery. Therefor the layout of Peek is different for each page and sometimes upside down. Also some pictures are cropped to give the sense of being zoomed into specific parts of the photos. This gives the curious reader the opportunity to dig into the magazine to uncover the material throughout their reading experience. Below you can view some of the spreads of the otherwise 80 page magazine. My role: Concept Editor Art Director Designer Illustrator
